Meta’s Twitter-esque Threads app has surpassed 100 million users in its first five days of release. The Zuckerbergian app was released on Thursday morning to generally good reviews, and has taken giant leaps forward since, the likes of which has never been seen before within the industry.
The release has led to the clashing of heads between tech billionaires Elon Musk (Twitter, Tesla) and Mark Zuckerberg (Threads, Meta) who have been taking jabs at each other for the past week.
The former seems to be taking it worse than the latter though, after spending over $43 billion on the biggest public discussion social site back in April 2022. Twitter has even been accused of censoring the term ‘Threads’ on its trending page, with it apparently not being in the top 30 of topics discussed on the app this week.
It now seems certain that Threads is set to become a mainstay in the online social sphere, making it a must for musicians on the same level as Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. Though currently nowhere near any of these apps user base, the growth we are seeing is stunning – get involved as soon as you can!
