Amazon Music and Bandsintown have collaborated to launch a new merch integration. This has come in response to the growing importance of merch as an income stream for musicians in the modern era of music sales.
Starting today, fans can shop for merchandise while browsing artist profiles and tour pages on the Bandsintown website and app. This will allow 590,000 artists registered with Bandsintown for Artists to leverage its suite of free marketing tools, making it easy to promote merch and music to Bandsintown’s community of 80 million fans via in-app notifications, email, and social channels.
Certainly a simple change but one that further opens up an incredibly important revenue stream for artists and their labels. The easier an artist’s merch is to buy, the more merch they will sell, simple.
