US-based startup, Infinite Album, is harnessing generative AI technology to cater to the gaming community. This innovation involves the creation of real-time music, specially designed for Twitch creators to use as soundtracks in their gaming streams, without the risk of triggering copyright takedowns. The company won accolades at the 2021 Midemlab contest and subsequently launched its beta tool in March 2022. Now, it has received an official launch at TwitchCon Las Vegas, marking a significant step in its growth.

Infinite Album’s desktop application is compatible with PC and is programmed to produce adaptive soundtracks for streamers engaged in popular games like League of Legends, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PUBG, and World of Tanks. These soundtracks dynamically adjust to the in-game events while also seamlessly integrating with Twitch’s ‘bits’ tipping system, enabling viewers to interact with the music.

The startup offers a premium subscription service for $7.99 per month, with an ad-supported free tier also available. To create its AI model, Infinite Album drew upon a diverse range of music sources, including public domain tracks, licensed content from commercial instrument libraries, music crafted by its in-house team, and directly licensed works from artists. In the latter scenario, the company is committed to remunerating artists based on the extent of their contribution to each music stream, even including training data.

Furthermore, Infinite Album is collaborating with artists to curate ‘sound packs’ tailored to its service, with Thomas Barrandon being the first to launch one. This innovative approach aligns with the growing demand for tailored soundtracks among gamers, enhancing the overall experience and allowing creators to express their unique style while avoiding copyright-related complications.
