10 Million Users In 7 Hours – Threads Is Making Waves.

Meta’s answer to Twitter, Threads, launched early this morning. It gained a user base of 10 million in around 7 hours with that number set to grow exponentially as time rolls on.

Though issues and bugs have been reported by users the general consensus seems to be that, at least compared to other day 1 social media platforms in years gone by, this is far out performing expectations.

That being said, questions have been raised on the data the app collects off its users, which includes health and fitness data among a list of 10 extra data points that Twitter currently does not collect.

Because of this excessive data collection the app is currently unavailable in the EU. Meta awaits further clarification from the European Commision on how legislation will be implemented.

This makes the apps launch even more impressive, with such a large portion of the possible market still not being available to reach. Only time will tell if Threads has legs, but so far things are looking extremely interesting
